Poetry Sequence – Part 2

Longing

What do you do the
day after someone is
murdered?

All that I know to do is
visit his family. So I
go.

His mother weeps
constantly.

Those closest to him have
a confused look on their face
and they are
wondering
why he is dead if he was
supposed
to be the Messiah.

My words don’t seem to
comfort
anyone so I travel back home
in silence.

I pray for the next few hours,
hoping that
God
will send the Savior we have
been longing for.

I really thought it was
Him.
